New Communities for a New Year

There have been significant personnel changes in the two Salesian communities in Samoa for 2013.

Brother Tuia and Br Pati have joined the Salelologa Community in Savai’i and have commenced their practical training at Don Bosco High School and Technical Centre. As well as teaching religion and assisting in the workshops at the school, they are also assisting in the Salesian Parish of St Francis de Sales, particularly with the youth group.

At Alafua, on Upolu Island, there are three new community members, including Fr Paselio, who has returned from studies in Australia to take on the role of Director of Pre-Novices. Fr Visesio returns to Alafua to work in the school after completing education studies in Fiji. Fr Chris takes on the role of Principal of Don Bosco Technical Centre. Br Atonio and Br Ese have been members of the Alafua community for the past two years and, after completing their studies have joined the staff of the school. The most significant feature of these changes for 2013 is the increased Salesian presence in the school, which has been noted with appreciation by the staff and students alike. The Alafua Community is also fortunate to host the Pre-Novitiate, and three new Prenovices have already joined the program.
